ACT Rankings:

In June 2009, American Cranes & Transport (ACT) magazine ranked Turner Bros., LLC, No.20 in the act100 list of the Top 100 largest Crane owning companies. Ranking is based on fleet size and capacity. Also according the ACT survey Turner Bros., LLC now has the 5th largest single crane with the addition of the Liebherr 11200-9.1. This is a jump of 4 slots over 2008’s ranking.

In December 2008, American Cranes & Transport magazine ranked Turner Bros., LLC, No.12 on its 2008 list of the Top 50 largest Heavy and Specialized transport companies, acttransport50, based on fleet size and capacity.

Safety Awards

SC&RA Safety Awards

The Specialized Carrier & Riggers Association recognized companies during the Annual Conference, April 21-25, 2009 at the La Quinta Resort, La Quinta, California.

Turner Bros., LLC received two awards at the conference:

  • The Crane & Rigging Group Safety Award: awarded to those companies with a superior safety record based on man-hours worked.
  • The Transportation Fleet Safety Improvement Award which shows a reduction in the accident frequency rate for miles travelled compared the previous year accident frequency rate.

The Safety Council of East Texas has awarded
Turner Bros. Crane & Rigging, LLC a Safety
Award for Four Years
Worked - Zero Incidents.

Equipment News

DUAL LANE 32-Axle Transport: In
August 2008 Turner Bros. took
delivery of a Dual Lane 32-axle Transport,
the largest heavy capacity trailer in use today,
to the Heavy Haul fleet.

 

 

Mori Seiki Threading Machine
At the end of 2008, Turner Bros., LLC
added a new computer numerical controlled
(CNC) Mori Seiki machine at the Edmond, Oklahoma
pipe inspection facility for threading sizes 4 ½ - 9 ⅝.

 

 

Teletrac Management System: Turner Bros. has installed the Teletrac fleet management system on selected trucks in the Houston area. The Teletrac system is a comprehensive location and logistics communication solution to improve fleet productivity. Teletrac utilizes GPS technology and specialized software to provide real-time information for fleet management. The system increases transport efficiency by providing dispatchers with more information to help them make informed decisions.

Houston Terminal Expansion: In 2008 Turner Bros. expanded the Houston Terminal adding 25 acres of additional storage capacity and over 350 new pipe storage racks that can accommodate an additional 50,000 tons of pipe storage.
